The legal records of LeBron James, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are for sale on the underground web. For a starting price of $600,000, anyone can bid on the records of one of these celebrities.
As described in our May 9 post, the REvil gang breached the law firm of Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks (GSMLaw.com).
The gang, also referred to as Sodinokibi or Gold Southfield, accepts payment in Monero, a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin but harder to trace. The upload 756 gigabytes of law firm files, including confidential documents of dozens of clients.
As of this writing, the Grubman firm still has not restored their full firm website. Currently it is just a one-page site whereas previously they had multiple pages naming their attorneys and prominent entertainment industry clients. Those pages are available through the Internet Archive.
The fact that Grubman has dramatically lowered its profile since May 9th underscores the devastating effects on law firms of this new variant of cyber crime.
