Small-time thieves are using free kits for creating fraudulent emails designed to get access to your financial accounts.
The emails they create can include forms with pre-filled information, false error messages, live polls, and pages designed to work on smartphones. Some of the kits have back doors that secretly collect the personal data from the thief using the kit and send it to the creator of the kit. So multiple thieves can use or resell the personal information.
The designs of fraudulent emails are constantly changed and updated in an effort to avoid detection by spam filters and antivirus software. Cloud-based security services connected to security software on your computer can react and protect you much more quickly than antivirus software that relies on periodic virus definition downloads.
